What we’re building and why
Home Automation & Safety is the day-to-day automation project behind Gigabyte Grove. Home Assistant acts as the central coordination layer for systems that would otherwise live in separate apps or isolated devices.
The project includes presence-aware routines, doors and locks, garage control, cameras, notifications, network-aware automations, environmental sensors, and custom integrations developed when commercial devices do not expose the local control or data the Grove needs.
The emphasis is reliability and useful automation rather than novelty. Automations should make the property easier to operate, keep important states visible, and fail in predictable ways when a device or service is unavailable.
