About this project

What we’re building and why

ADS-B & Aviation Network is Gigabyte Grove’s physical aircraft-tracking project. Receivers at the Grove listen for 1090 MHz ADS-B broadcasts and turn those transmissions into useful local aircraft data, mapping, coverage information, and operational telemetry.

The project includes the antennas, SDR receivers, host systems, network paths, reception tuning, and maintenance required to keep a dependable local station online. The software side is handled by ADSB1090 Local Node, while this project documents the real-world receiver and aviation-monitoring infrastructure around it.

Updates can cover antenna changes, range improvements, receiver moves, interference problems, coverage experiments, and changes to the local or distributed ADS-B setup.
