The story so far…

On the evening of September 26th, 2025, our neighbor reached out after finding three tiny kittens alone on her property. With owls and other predators recently seen in the area, their survival was uncertain. We knew we couldn’t leave them defenseless, so we rushed over and brought them to safety.
As we began caring for them, it quickly became clear that one of the kittens was different. This little fighter, whom we’ve affectionately named Hot Wheels, appears to be paralyzed from the mid-back down. His back legs don’t work, but that hasn’t slowed his determination—he scoots, wiggles, and finds his way around with a resilience that melts our hearts. Watching him try to keep up with his siblings is both inspiring and heartbreaking all at once.
Right now, we believe we have two boys and one girl. All three are depending on us—and now, hopefully, on you. Their first big step toward a better life is getting to the vet, where they can receive the medical care they so desperately need.
We are committed to giving these kittens every chance at a happy, healthy future, but we can’t do it alone. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will go directly toward their veterinary care and recovery. Even a single dollar helps lighten the burden and brings these little ones closer to safety, comfort, and love.
If you feel moved to help, donations can be made via CashApp or through our PayPal account at gigabytegrove.com/donate. Please include “Kitten” in the notes so we can properly document your gift for tax purposes.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us fight for their future. Together, we can give them the life they deserve.
To those who consider donating, we thank you for your gift. For those who are not able to, please share this with people you know. The more eyes we can get on this, the better chance we have of helping this beautiful little creatures.
It was a rough night for the little ones, we had some yelling and screaming from them overnight, but everyone ultimately calmed down. We think they are between 2-3 weeks based on their current eating habits, movement and development. We are starting to see a bit more out of “Hot Wheels” today than we did yesterday. We think the rest did them well. Today we’re going to try to see if we can trap “Pretty Girl”, which was the name given to the Mom.
We set a trap out to see if we could get Mama back to her kittens with some canned tuna and much to our surprise, she entered the trap! It didn’t trip, she may be too smart to fall for it. We’re hoping by morning we have her waiting for us in the trap, but we’re committed to making sure she and babies are back together again soon.
The babies are very much missing Mama, but they are eating with minimal issues. Jen’s focusing a lot of attention on “Hot Wheels” which is what Brad has nicknamed the paralyzed kitten. They even started playing and roughhousing together after they ate!
Everyone was very vocal at feeding time. “Cookies” (black) and “Creme” (white) were playing outside their bin while “Hot Wheels” was being fed. The kittens are in great spirits! They seem so happy to be well fed, and well looked after!
It’s breakfast time again! The babies slept really well last night and we have evidence of Mommy and Daddy cat overnight. Unfortunately it looks like the trap didn’t trip last night so we’ll be trying again tonight to see if we can reunite Mama (and Daddy) and kittens!
The kittens came out and enjoyed some playtime with Kaleb after feeding time. They are starting to get a bit curious and are using their new found skill of mobility to explore their area. We are hoping that tomorrow morning (Monday) we can call around and get an idea of a vet in the area that will see “Hot Wheels” and evaluate him.
Another feeding time is afoot, the kittens are being cared for, and they had a good meal. They are most certainly teething, so there is a lot of chewing on bottles, and playing! Even “Hot Wheels” is trying to play with his siblings! A trap was placed tonight to try to catch Mama cat, but we haven’t seen her as of yet. Hopefully the forecasted rain holds off.
The kittens have had their morning meal, and are sleeping comfortably together. We didn’t see Mama cat last night, but other cats in her pack were in the area. So we know it’s only a matter of time before she shows up again. Until then, we are just making everyone comfortable.
We found a cat bed we had in storage that came with Orion, a rescue that came to us last year by a close friend, and the kittens have fallen in love with it. They are so warm and cozy they barely want to leave to eat!
“Hot Wheels” was up and moving around at dinner time. We love seeing his energy levels up and him exploring the area we have them in. Surprisingly he’s able to keep up with his siblings pretty well too! Tomorrow is another day but for tonight, another day is in the books, and the kittens are down for sleepy-time.
Last night was a bit cool, so the babies got a nice warm bath after feeding time this morning. Everyone is very happy with their full bellies and we’re enjoying watching them grow, and play.
Another feeding time is in the books, in this photo we’ve got Creme, who’s the girl of the litter. We are still very actively trying to trap Mama cat, so they can be reunited. We are still desperately seeking monetary help and supplies so if you can place an order on Amazon to donate. Please do.
The babies are eating breakfast, and they are so energetic! We love seeing this! “Hot Wheels” has his first vet appointment tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to seeing how well off he is. His mobility is through the roof today and he’s able to keep up with his siblings, even out pacing them sometimes!
With the family still recovering from the loss of their brother Apollo, the two remaining babies are getting some extra love and attention from the family. We are not certain as of this time, but we may or may not keep them and raise them here on the Grove. But while that gets determined, these babies are being spoiled rotten by all of the family members here. Right now their more permanent names appear to be “Astra” (female) and “Titan” (male)
