Who We Are

Welcome to Gigabyte Grove, where technology, sustainability, and family come together to create something extraordinary.

We’re Brad, Jen, and Kaleb—a family with big ideas, a love for problem-solving, and a passion for building a future that blends modern technology with self-sufficiency. Our journey started with a vision: to create a homestead that thrives on innovation, independence, and the belief that we can live smarter, not harder.

Meet the Family

👨‍💻 Brad – The Innovator & Builder
Brad is the driving force behind Gigabyte Grove. With a background in IT, networking, and emergency services, he has spent his career solving complex problems and making systems run seamlessly. Whether it’s designing infrastructure, setting up communications networks, or automating daily tasks, Brad thrives on finding efficient solutions. His love for technology isn’t just about convenience—it’s about using it to empower a more sustainable lifestyle.

Beyond his technical expertise, Brad is also the hands-on builder of the homestead, tackling everything from off-grid power solutions to communications towers. He’s always looking for ways to merge tech with traditional homesteading, proving that self-sufficiency doesn’t have to mean giving up modern conveniences.

👩‍⚕️ Jen – The Heart & Foundation
Jen is the glue that holds everything together. With a background in healthcare, she has dedicated her career to helping others, working from home while balancing the challenges of family life. Her passion for wellness, organization, and creating a nurturing home makes Gigabyte Grove more than just a project—it’s a way of life.

While Brad builds the infrastructure, Jen ensures that everything works in harmony. From gardening and food preservation to keeping the household running smoothly, she’s the quiet force that keeps things moving forward. Her focus on health and well-being influences everything at Gigabyte Grove, ensuring that sustainability isn’t just about technology—it’s also about quality of life.

Kaleb – The Next Generation Explorer
Kaleb is the future of Gigabyte Grove and the reason behind many of our projects. Curious, energetic, and always ready to learn, he’s growing up surrounded by hands-on experiences in technology, nature, and problem-solving. Whether he’s helping build something with Dad, learning how things work, or just enjoying the freedom of country life, Kaleb is soaking in knowledge that will help shape the next generation of sustainability and innovation.

At just a young age, he’s already showing an interest in STEM, outdoor exploration, and hands-on learning, making him an integral part of the family’s journey. His boundless energy and fresh perspective remind us why we started Gigabyte Grove in the first place—to create a future worth building.

Animals on the Grove

Current Animals

🐈 Luna Moon

Luna came to us as a relocate. She needed a home and we had just lost our two girls (Mysti and Bella). Luna was a bit skiddish but ended up coming into her own with us. She is very neurotic and has her own unique personality. She’s very quite but she speaks loudly through her actions when she doesn’t like something. Ironically enough, her personality is a very strange mixture of all 3 of our original cats, and she shares some insanely similar qualities to all of them.

Date of Birth: February 1, 2018

🐈 Orion "Jups" Jupiter

Orion, known by Brad as “Jups” (pronounced “Joops”) came to us as a kitten. Shortly after we moved into Gigabyte Grove, we were contacted by our agent who told us that her sister had found a kitten in an engine compartment, and that it needed a home. Thinking of us, she sent us along some pictures where we instantly fell in love. Orion is the first male cat in the family, and he’s the most loveable. He is weird and quirky and fits right in with the rest of the family.

Posthumous Mentions

🐈 Bella Marie

Bella’s story was a very interesting one. Found by a friend of Jen’s during college, Bella came home with Jen one spring break and never left her heart. Much like Mysti, Bella was there for all of Jen’s firsts with Brad and oversaw a lot of their firsts as well. While very skittish, when Bella had truly accepted you, there was no love stronger than hers. She would go out of her way to make sure you knew she loved you in her own special way.

Date of Birth: September 10, 2004
Date of Death: May 19, 2021

🐈 Mystikal "Mysti" Rose

Mysti was found by Brad’s sister abandoned in the woods of Constantia, New York. She resided at Brad’s parents house for about a year before being relocated to Brad’s apartment where he adopted her. Mysti was there during Brad’s bad times and good times, saw Brad meet Jen, their first apartment and first home, and was even warm and welcoming to Kaleb when he first came home. She was truly one of a kind.

Date of Birth: April 14, 2006
Date of Death: July 17, 2021

🐈 Ivyaesa "Ivy" Mae

Ivy came to us on shear luck. As Brad tells it, one day he was out grilling a few hamburgers on the deck of Brad and Jen’s apartment when a kitten showed up. Brad promptly went and got the kitten food, and she kept him company as he finished grilling his burger. When he was done, he attempted to wish her luck but when he opened the apartment door, Ivy welcomed herself into our home and our hearts, and never left us.

🐈 Apollo "Hot Wheels" Vega

Apollo “Hot Wheels” came to us as part of the 2025 Kitten Rescue along with his siblings. We had decided to keep him but upon taking him to a local vet clinc they had informed us that due to a severe spinal cord injury, Apollo would live an abnormally painful life as he got older. He was formally adopted to the family, and will be honored as one.
